St Paul’s Youth: Finding Christ in the Chalice
On Thursday, 5th September at 7:00pm, the youth of St Paul’s Antiochian Church gathered for a special evening of fellowship and reflection. We started the night with a delicious fish and chips dinner, generously prepared by our own youth. After dinner, we moved into the hall where Abouna gave a talk based on “Finding Christ in the Chalice.” He spoke about how we prepare to take Communion, reminding us that it’s not just a ritual, but a sacred encounter with Christ.
Abouna also introduced the concept of eschatology, the study of the end times, and illustrated how it connects to every part of our Christian life. He highlighted that the Divine Liturgy is not only a tradition, but a moment where heaven and earth meet, and how everything we do in worship points back to our hope in Christ’s return. The evening ended with a sense of deeper understanding and appreciation for the Eucharist and our life in the Church. Many of us left inspired and reflective on how we prepare for Holy Communion, not just on Sunday, but throughout the whole week.
