Australia Day BBQ 2026

Striving to express the interconnectedness and multiculturalism of the parishioners of our church, Saint Paul’s Youth picked Australia Day to host a barbecue filled with faith, fun and festivity. Parishioners of all cultures gathered together at Cardinia Reservoir Park for food and fellowship, enjoying each other’s company and blessings of the outdoors!

Upon arrival, the youth had set up volleyball, soccer, food, shelter and music ready to be enjoyed by those of all ages! Maybe the weather wasn’t on point, but the amusement brought by the exciting volleyball games and mischievous water balloon fights certainly made up for the experience! The food was a big hit, as were the tunes that were blasting from the beginning to the end! A huge shoutout goes to the bushy trees that made the heat that much more tolerable by providing shelter and protection from the sun! Along with the built-in and quite popular gazebo that was there prior!

The day was a brilliant success, as observed by the smiles that accompanied the approximate 200 people who came and enjoyed the barbecue! We’d love to thank everyone who came together to celebrate the multiculturalism of the church and support the day, along with those who put in the hard work to cook, promote and provide equipment for the day, thus making the event possible! Most of all, we thank God for providing us with a beautiful opportunity to be together, because as Jesus proclaims, “Where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them”
