Sharfouna 2026
Family, love, connection and community is what makes a church! Games, food, dancing and laughter is what the ladies of Saint Paul incorporated into a Sharfouna night to welcome ladies to the parish and provide them with the opportunity to build this sense of faith, love, connection and community! The night of the 7th of February was a beautiful night for the bonding of many generations and cultures of women that our parish holds!
The night started off strong as the committee came in early to set up hall with the tables, games, food and the cozy and welcoming ambience of the event! Upon arrival of guests, it was clear from the smiles spread on the ladies faces that the evening was to turn out well-enjoyed, as was the clear enjoyment radiating off the ladies as they not only enjoyed the dinner and desert provided, but also the games, like ‘finish the lyrics’ and ‘burger ring roulette’. The event ended perfectly as the empty dance floor was flooded with ladies showing off their moves and creating a perfect wrap up to the blast the night was!
Ultimately, the night couldn’t have gone better, as observed by the smiles that accompanied the approximate 80 people who came and enjoyed the evening! Of course, this night couldn’t have been so successful without all the ladies that put their time and effort in preparation and on the night to pull off the event, under the blessing and support of our parish priest, Abouna Jean, and for this we’re very grateful! Most of all, this couldn’t have happened without the grace of God and His guidance that once brought all the people to greet Christ as He entered Jerusalem, and here brought all these ladies together under the same values and to build a community!
On the 8th of August, over fifty women, mothers, chanters, teachers, doctors, carers, and daughters of God gathered to learn more about Women Discipleship in the Gospel. Together, we discovered our roles in the eyes of God with the role models who came before us: the women of the bible.
