St Paul’s AGM 2025

On the 5th Sunday of Luke, the parish of St Paul’s held its AGM and elections for the new Parish Council. The gospel of the day as proclaimed by Fr Jean, was the teaching of the Rich Man and Lazarus, the poor man who lay at his gate. The homily detailed how salvation is dependent on one another, the poor man was given to the rich man to love and serve his neighbour, and likewise, the rich man was given to the poor man for him to wait upon the love of his neighbour and never lose hope on the other.

After the gospel, Fr Jean thanked the outgoing parish council members, especially Mr Rajaei Nasrawi, who had served on the council since its inception in the year 2000. Mr Nasrawi was thanked for his years of diligent and dynamic service to the Church and especially his love for the other. He was presented with a gold icon of the Annunciation, being his patron feast day, and a certificate of recognition.

The AGM and elections were held for the new committee seeing 6 new members joining and 9 members continuing to serve another term. We are grateful to all those who have served and continue to serve this sacred parish in the southeast of Melbourne. The new parish council will be presented to the parish after the election of positions on the 11th of November.

May it be blessed!
