St Paul’s Ladies Monastery Trip 2025
The Ladies Committee of St Paul’s hosted a beautiful monastery trip to Panagia Kamariani, on Saturday the 29th of March. The day began in the Church with the sacred service of the Small Supplication to the Theotokos, which is often sung during fasts.
After the service, Abouna arranged a workshop to expand our knowledge of St John Climacus. We were split into groups and each group was given a different step from the book he authored, called “The Ladder of Divine Ascent.”
This book describes a ladder of 30 rungs, each representing a step towards spiritual growth and union with God. It provides a guide for ascetics on how to overcome various vices and cultivate virtues like humility, repentance, purity, and love, ultimately leading to salvation.
Each group reflected on their assigned passage, sharing insights and discussing how the teachings of St. John Climacus can be applied to our modern lives. The wisdom imparted during the workshop offered us a deeper understanding of how we can ascend the spiritual ladder in our own journey.
This trip did not only deepen our spiritual connection but also strengthened the bond between our community.
